The Australian Shearers’ Hall of Fame located in the western NSW town of Hay is pleased to announce that five more notable shearing legends from around the country will be inducted into the Australian Shearers Hall of Fame at the Festival of the Blades on October Long Weekend Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th.
In announcing the names of the newly-honoured inductees Sam Barnes Chairman of the Shear Outback Board said “The 2024 Inductees were selected from 36 nominations by an independent selection panel. These legends are famous in the world of shearing, and should be acknowledged for their outstanding contributions and achievements to the shearing industry.”

Peter Orcher – Brewarrina NSW
Brian Sullivan – Deniliquin NSW
Alan Williams – Moama NSW
The formal Induction Ceremony on Saturday 5th will take place at a Formal Induction Dinner at the Hay Services Club where families, friends and associates of these inductees will be able to join with other shearing identities in honouring these five legends whose induction bring the number of shearers in the Australian Shearers Hall of Fame to fifty three (53).
The Shear Outback Board gives an open invitation to all those who are involved or associated in the shearing industry and its history, the world of sheep and wool, and the people who continue to work the sheds of Australia to come and celebrate the Induction of the five legends of 2024.

Regional Park Track
Located on the South of the Murrumbidgee River the Regional Park is accessed via Lang St. It is a dry weather road only with bush tracks throughout. The Regional Park Reserve is a great spot for bird watching or catching up with local wildlife.
