Experience the great outdoors

Expand your mind to this vast open land

Hay is the centre of some of the flattest country on earth. The plains offer their own distinct beauty to see your first sunset or sunrise, and experience standing under a 360 degree sky ablaze with brilliant colour and mesmerizing cloud formations. Star gazing is the best you'll find.

The riverbanks of the Murrumbidgee are the place to find seclusion and relax under towering river red gums for a picnic and a spot of fishing. Bird watchers will find 150 species of birds that make the river and plain home.

As a day trip from Hay, visit the surrounding villages of Booligal, Maude, Oxley, One Tree, Carrathool and Boorooban.
