Snapshot of Hay

A quick picture of Hay

The Hay Shire is located on the vast open and virtually treeless plain first commented upon by the early explorers and known today as the Hay Plains. With a difference in elevation of only 17 metres between the highest and lowest points these plains are recognised as one of the flattest sections of land in the world. The area was "built on the sheep's back" and is now promoted and documented as the home of Shear Outback, the Australian Shearers' Hall of Fame.
