About Hay Tourism and Development Inc.
Hay Tourism and Development Inc., (HTDI) is the result of a merger between Hay On Track Development Corporation, the Tourism arm of Hay Shire Council and Hay Business and Development Group.
The outcome is a streamlining of operations into one economic development body, to optimise the use of Hay's resources in determining and pursuing growth opportunities for the town and district.
The Hay Shire Council committed $175,000 to HTDI from 2002-2007 and has extended the committment to HTDI until 2010. These funds are to be utilised for community & economic development activities and tourism.

HTDI Membership Program
Hay Tourism and Development Inc., has a membership program that operates with the financial year. The 3 types of membership are:
Business Membership (Annual Membership fee $300 incl. GST)
Community Membership (Annual Membership fee $75 incl. GST)
Museum Membership (Annual Membership fee $150 incl. GST)
Individual Membership (Annual Membership fee $110 incl. GST)
Members receive a newsletter every 2 months (giving funding information, helpful resources & scheduled activities of the organisation) and there are 6 members meetings during a year, plus additional workshops and events. Vision
To facilitate sustainable economic growth, employment opportunities and community prosperity in Hay and district.
Aims
Through cooperation with the Hay Shire Council, local and regional industry, Government agencies, community groups and individuals we aim to:
- Foster efficient & professional business practice within existing businesses of the Hay Shire.
- Promote the future development of new business and industry.
- Support an environment that will encourage greater employment and opportunities through an improving skills base.
- Increase recognition of Hay town and surrounding area as an integral component of regional tourism activities.
- Generate funding to ensure the ongoing sustainability of Hay Tourism and Development Inc. and to support projects of relevance to its Strategic Plan.
Strategies
Hay Tourism and Development Inc. focuses on two main strategies, Economic & Business Development and Tourism. These two major strategies embrace a number of actions, successful completion of which will directly impact on the viability of the business sector and local economy, and indirectly benefit community morale and attitude, the youth sector and employment.

HTDI operating premises
1. The Economic & Business Development activities are conducted from an office behind the gazebo at the Hay Visitor Information Centre. The Community Technology Centre(CTC) is a project of HTDI and allows businesses and interested persons to access ATO (Australian Tax Office) information/products & free access to government services online through the www.nsw.gov.au and www.ato.gov.au website.

2. The Hay Visitor Information Centre which is located in Moppett St is where all the tourism activities are conducted.
