The history of Carrathool over the last century is interwoven with that of the river trade, the development of rail and the building of the bridge across the Murrumbidgee River.
Pinker's Beach 3 km South East of the town on the Murrumbidgee River is an attractive sandy beach perfect for picnics and camping and rest stops, or to throw a line in for a spot of fishing. www.carrathool.nsw.gov.au/visiting-our-area/carrathool
